Forbes Names Virginia as Best Business State

According to Forbes Magazine, Virginia is the best business state yet again (for the 4th year running), “booming compared to the rest of the nation.” http://www.forbes.com/2009/09/23/best-states-for-business-beltway-best-states.html Forbes attributes this to our highly educated workforce, low energy usage, and business-friendly incentives.

Fridays After Five

Fridays After Five is a free concert series at the Charlottesville Pavilion that runs from roughly April through September every year, featuring great bands from Charlottesville and all along the East Coast. This is an open-air concert, rain or shine, and is great for all ages!

The Foxfield Races

The Foxfield Race, also referred to as just “Foxfield” is an annual horse race held in Charlottesville, that attracts people young and old to a long day in the sun in the beautiful outdoors. From young children to UVA students to the young at heart, this Charlottesville attraction draws huge crowds every year!

University of Virginia Alumni

The University of Virginia Alumni Association has a strong influence throughout Charlottesville. The presence of University alumni and their contributions to Charlottesville are significant, and UVA has some of the most loyal alumni you’ll see! You won’t be able to miss them on UVA game days.

College Town

The University of Virginia is one of the largest employers in Charlottesville and the University faculty, students, and staff are huge contributors to the success of our local economy. City’s that thrive off of college campuses are often much more insulated from market shifts and weak economies.
